The purpose of this study is to determine to what extent the high school teachers of industrial arts in the State of Oklahoma are being used and trained to meet the apparent needs and trends in the field of industrial arts; and to make the results available in a helpful way to all persons interested in working in the field, or in preparing for, or preparing others for service in the field.

The purpose of this study is to determine the types of audio-visual aids that are being used in the junior high schools of Texas, the extent of their use, the evaluation by teachers in service of various audio-visual aids, the needs recognized by the teachers in service for additional audio-visual aids in the respective schools, and the needs of teachers in service for aid and instructions in the use of such aids. It is hoped that, with this information and additional information from professional literature, conclusions can be drawn and recommendations made that will aid teachers in the Texas junior high schools to use available audio-visual aids to a much greater advantage than is now being evidenced.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relation of mechanical aptitude and academic grades of students who have completed a minimum of sixty semester hours of college credit and who were enrolled in the major departments of North Texas State College.

The purpose of this study is to determine the condition of the power woodworking equipment used for instructional purposes in the high schools of Texas, the amount of money needed to repair and maintain the equipment now in use, the various policies followed by the schools in regard to the purchasing and maintenance of this equipment, the makes of machinery most frequently found, the average age of the equipment, and the makes and types of woodworking machines preferred by the instructors for instructional purposes.

The first purpose is to study the life and educational background of Haney in order to gain an understanding of the man and his educational objectives. A second purpose is to gain an insight into Haney's philosophy of education, and the third purpose is to examine the available writings of Haney in an attempt to analyze his philosophy of industrial arts as a phase of general education.

The primary purpose of this study is to give simple and detailed instructions for building a log cabin by the post-and-beam method. The data were gathered from three sources: (1) library research, (2) interviews with experienced builders of cabins, and (3) personal experience in cabin construction. A step-by-step guide for building a cabin is given in Chapters II and III, which explain in depth how to construct each section of the cabin, from laying the foundation to putting on the finishing touches. It is believed that any serious builder can follow the directions and construct his own log cabin for less than one-third the cost of a similar commercially built cabin.

This study attempts to determine what use should be made of art metal work in the junior high school. It attempts to determine whether art metal work should be offered strictly as art metal, as combinations of art metal and wrought iron, or as combinations of art metal and wood, from the standpoint both of the child and of the ultimate aim of Industrial Arts. The ultimate aim or objective of Industrial Arts is to provide such training as that of general education, which will best equip for efficient membership society. Broadly speaking, all the offerings of the Industrial Arts field contribute in some measure to the attainment of the ultimate objective. This study was designed to identify the knowledge and skills that draftsmen employed in the greater Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas metropolitan area should posses. This study was conducted to identify the following as related to draftsmen in the Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas area: What kind of education and experience is required to prospective draftsmen? What are the general duties of draftsmen? How much emphasis is placed upon knowledge of and skill in the use of drafting equipment? How important are the basic concepts and principles of drafting usually taught in drafting courses? What methods are used to reproduce drawings?

This was a comparative study in which Texas teachers of industrial plastics and the employers of Texas plastic industries were surveyed in order to evaluate the need for various knowledge and skills of the plastics industry. The respondents believed that basic knowledge of plastics was much needed, and knowledge of the thermoplastic family is of more importance than of the thermoset family. It was also concluded that knowledge of demonstration skills is of only average or lesser importance than knowledge of other areas.

The purpose of this study was to determine the availability of qualified industrial arts teachers in the twenty-four North Texas area school districts surveyed; and to ascertain the effects of industrial arts teacher availability upon the status of the industrial arts programs in the school districts surveyed.

This study was made to gather information and data to aid the administration of the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw School District in making a decision as to whether a vocational industrial education program was needed and if so what courses should be included.

This is a study to develop standards to be use by industrial arts teachers, school administrators, and architects when planning new industrial arts laboratories or renovating existing industrial arts laboratories for grades seven through twelve in the State of Texas.

The major purposes of this study were to gather information on the employment status and location of students who completed four or more courses in the technical-industrial program at Tyler Junior College, Tyler, Texas; to identify factors that influenced them in selecting Tyler Junior College and taking courses in the technical-industrial program; to ascertain in some measure the effectiveness of the training these students received in preparing them for the positions they have held and now hold; and to secure data and information which the faculty and administration at Tyler Junior College may use in evaluating the present program with respect to future changes and improvements.

The purpose of this study is threefold. First, numerical control will be analyzed objectively to ascertain its justification in terms of meeting the requirements of the basic manufacturing process phases. Secondly, the study will consist of an evaluation of the field of industrial arts in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to determine how numerical control has been accepted in the educational field and what preparation, if any, is being made to include the teaching of this new industrial concept. Thirdly, the study will investigate the feasibility and cost of installing numerically controlled equipment in the industrial arts laboratories of North Texas State University.
