The problem of this study is to determine what constitutes adequate and desirable physical facilities for industrial arts laboratories in public schools.

This is a study of the woods used by man in the construction of implements, furniture and buildings from the the first known use of wood to the present day use of this material.

Industrial arts has been taught in varying degrees in the elementary schools of Texas for a number of years. In some cases, industrial arts activities have been integrated with other subject matter areas, and in some cases they have been taught as a separate subject. There have been several studies made concerning what the nature and extent of industrial arts activities should be at the elementary level. Research indicates, however, that there has been no study made to determine if industrial arts activities could be used to enrich the elementary curriculum in the Fort Worth Independent School District. The problem of this study is to determine if there is a need for industrial arts activities to enrich the elementary curriculum in the Fort Worth Independent School District, Fort Worth, Texas.

This study of the feasibility of introducing certain economic concepts into secondary school industrial arts curricula reveals that most Americans understand economics poorly. The study divides economic concepts into seven major categories with which the responsible adult should be familiar. The study examines trends toward involving economics in contemporary industrial arts projects and presents selected such activities with an economic emphasis. The study concludes by distinguishing between suitable and unsuitable economic concepts for integration into industrial arts curricula.

This study is intended to be of practical value to the teacher as well as to the student of industrial arts by tracing the development of the craft guilds and their part in the transmission of knowledge and skill. A study of the guilds as a educative agency during the Middle Ages should also disclose factors which establish the effective values of work in the field of industrial arts.

The purpose of this study was to determine, by means of a survey, the desires and needs of Latin-American children in connection with an educational program in the elementary school and at the junior-high-school level. It was recognized at the outset of this investigation that these pupils may be influenced materially both by the lower standard of education of their parents and the higher standard of education of their teachers. Language difficulties, living conditions at home, and loyalty to native teachings, customs, and traditions act as opposing forces in the effective educational training of these pupils in the schools of Texas.

The predominate purpose of this study is to compare G. Stanley Hall's philosophy of adolescence and practical arts with the accepted philosophy of teaching industrial arts in the secondary schools of the United States today. This thesis is a comparative study of G. Stanley Hall's philosophy, with emphasis placed on practical arts, to show how his philosophy has influenced the philosophy of present-day industrial arts in the secondary schools of the United States.

The problem of this study was to determine the degree of suitability of the available industrial arts textbooks for classroom use in the subject area of woodworking. In order to arrive at satisfactory conclusions relative to the problem, it was necessary to seek answers to the following questions. 1. What textbooks are available for teachers of industrial arts for the subject area of woodworking? 2. How can the textbooks be classified according to subject area and grade level? 3. Are criteria available for use in determining the suitability of woodworking textbooks for a sound industrial arts program? 4. Are the available textbooks suitable for classroom use in the area of woodworking?

This is a study comparing the existing industrial arts housing and equipment facilities in the state of Texas with: first, housing standards within ad tentative Texas Education Agency publication entitled A Guide for Planning Industrial Arts Facilities; and second, apparent equipment needs for implementing the programs described in Texas Education Agency Bulletin 615, Principles and Standards for Accrediting Elementary and Secondary Schools and Description of Approved Courses Grades 7-12.

The primary purpose of this study was to identify the skills and knowledge required of employees in the plastics industry in the Dallas Metropolitan area. An instrument was utilized to obtain data in order to identify various skills and knowledge. This study was limited to fifteen instruments returned by fifteen participating firms in the Dallas Metropolitan area. A comparison was made of the industrial arts plastics course offerings in the Dallas Metropolitan area schools with the requirements of the plastic industry in order to ascertain the degree of importance the course offerings were to the plastics industry.

The study is also designed to help the potential home builder in the selection of various artisans and the purchasing of building materials, along with the basic structure of a home.

This is a study of the history of the federal laws concerning vocational education and the growth of vocational education in the secondary schools of Texas from 1918 to 1948.

The purpose of this study was to determine the growth of industrial arts in the secondary schools of Texas from the year of 1927 to 1948.

The purpose of this study was to make a survey of the graduates of Technical High School of Fort Worth, Texas, for a period of ten years, from 1942 to 1952, to determine the effectiveness of the preparation they received in helping the graduates to choose a vocation and acquire the basic skills and attitudes that helped them in obtaining a position and to continue as successful workers.

The purpose of this study is to determine the pupil load in relationship to the amount of equipment available for use in industrial arts classes in the junior high schools of Texas.

This study measures technical preparation and job demands among North Texas State University industrial arts graduates teaching in high schools. In addition to data from professional literature and the NTSU Bulletin, questionnaire mailings reveal that most graduates consider themselves qualified although recommending more semester hours of industrial arts for certification. The purpose of this study was twofold: First, to analyze two methods of teaching mechanical drawing in the seventh grade by conducting an experiment to determine by which method the greatest amount of achievement was obtained by the students in the ability to visualize, sketch, letter, and understand three-view drawing; and second, to recommend a work plan and certain teaching techniques for teaching mechanical drawing in the seventh grade of the Santa Fe, New Mexico Junior High School, based upon the method by which the greater amount of achievement was indicated in the study.
