The purpose of this study is to make a survey of the efforts that have been made to secure world peace and to present some basic elements necessary in any workable world peace organization. Stress will be placed not on military power or economic difficulties but on the fundamental human relationships of mankind.

Primarily, the purpose of the study was to show the immediate effects of the depression on the educational program in the United States. Secondarily, the writer hoped to encourage teachers not only to ward off another similar catastrophe but also to make the present educational program take care of the devastating effects of the past depression as far as possible.

The study reported in the thesis attempted to examine the decision-making process for the institutionalization of older people in homes for the aged. More specifically, it sought to determine who was responsible for the decisions, to discover if this responsibility was related to selected social factors, and to ascertain if it affected the adjustment of older people to the institutional setting.

It will be established that he embraced such as system because it allowed the maximum accumulation of capital, which is the manifestation of being truly virtuous as developed in his Moral Sentiments. To go one step further, it will be seen that, so far as Smith is concerned, it is the rising bourgeoisie, the manufacturers and artificers, which is truly virtuous, i.e., accumulates capital.

This study involved an analysis of the competitive philosophy and market structures of the European Economic Community. The investigation was concerned with market power both within the EEC itself and between the EEC and its eighteen African Associates. Although the present Association is in part a vestige of the colonial era, its economic nature is closely related to the economic nature of the EEC. It was the object of this study to define these characteristics, showing how they evolved from forces concomitant with postwar recovery and integration.

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is such a specialized agency. It is the purpose of this study to explore what the author believes to be some of the more important projects of FAO as it attempts to achieve its objectives.

The purpose of this thesis is to provide a descriptive study of psychiatric and social variables related to aged first admissions to a private psychiatric hospital in the calendar years 1959 through 1963. The study also seeks to determine what, if any, relationship exists between background characteristics of the patients and their diagnoses. Finally, the diagnosis of the patient is compared with a series of patient outcome variables to determine the relationship, if any, between diagnosis and selected recovery variables. Due to the nature of the data used, the emphasis of the thesis is upon describing relationships rather than testing hypotheses.

The purpose of this research is to determine whether or not meaningful differences exist along these dimensions in the manner in which social workers view their work role, and whether or not any such differences are related to the bureaucratic and professional nature of the agencies and their employees.
