Caption: "An industry that produces 38 percent of the total state revenue is signified in this view of producing well in front of the state capitol - a well and a capitol of distinction. It is the Phillips Petroleum No. 1 Capitol, drilled in a petunia bed at end of Lincoln Parkway, and has its hole bottomed under the executive office. The lease site is hardly enough for the well and its equipment, and was directionally drilled to tap the oil reservior under the capitol. The scene is a favorite with both professional and amateur photographers and has been widely used in magazines and newspapers."

Caption: "Bumper stickers have come a long, long way since the Alf Landon sunflower, an invitation to "Eat Beef" and that start-of-school warning, "Watch That Child." Today you can get everything from a blush to a chuckle to a gummy bumber out of these attempmts at humor on the move. And, it isn't just the folks with a political message or a sick joke. who take to their bumpers with their message. Evangelism, even, is having a bumper crop. "If You Love Jesus, Honk," is one improbable message. "One Way," says another, with a finger pointing toward heaven. All this and the bumper-sticking season is just starting. Election year makes dividends of companies that make bumper stickers - and for emporiums after the election as the losers try to eradicate proof they rode the wrong horse. They cover up their embarrasment by sticking on those "Don't Blame Me" stickers."

Caption: "The undamaged elevator of the roller coaster at Springlake is pictured here through the charred timbers of a portion of the amusement park's facilities that were destroyed in an early morning fire Thursday. Despite the fire which damaged the park in excess of $50,000, "the show will go on," Ron Staton, manager and one of the owners, declared Thursday, indicating that the park will open on as scheduled May 31. Destroyed in the blaze were the fun house, the roller coaster terminal, the electric scooter racing link and the shooting gallery. Staton pointed out the fire was confined to only one section of the park leaving other facilities undamaged. The fire razed sections of the roller link and the other destroyed buildings will be replaced just as soon as it "can be done witht the best materials," Staton said, declaring that the operators of the park will go slow in the replacement work in order to do the best possible job of reconstructing the loss. The fire started early Thursday morning when lightning struck an electric conduit on the "Big Dipper."
