Photograph taken for a newspaper owned by the Oklahoma Publishing Company. Caption: "Mass of wreckage was left after this Oklahoma cattle truck hit a Wichita turnpike gate, killing two attendants. WICHITA--Two counts of fourth degree manslaughter were filed against the driver of an empty cattle truck that rammed into two tollbooths of the Kansas turnpike Wednesday, killing two attendants. The charges were filed against John L. Pettyjohn, 35, of Hugo, Okla. He was arraigned on the two counts by Common Pleas Court Judge Nicholas Klein. A bond of $1,000 was set and the case was placed on the May 27 court docket at which time a preliminary hearing may be scheduled. Killed in the accident were Albert J. Engbrecht, 58, Wichita, and Wilbert Kunkel, 54, of Douglass, Kan. Both victims had received their 10-year employment pins last fall from Kansas Turnpike Authority officials. Pettyjohn received only a bump on his head and did not require hospitalization."
