Bermudagrass Seed

Photograph of NK-37 Bermudagrass seed. Seeding and fertilizing rate was 1/2 lb. hulled NK-37 bermuda grass seed with 125 lbs. 10-20-10 per acre at seeding time. Seed was mixed with fertilizer and planted in shallow furrows 18 inches apart with an Ezy-Flow fertilizer Spreader with "Pray" furrowing device attached.

Photograph of Blue River bottom land. Cleared in 1956. Was wet, poorly drained timber land near wortless pasture before clearing and planting to midland bermuda and clover. Planted to bermuda 1957, 500 acre ranch has 200 acres on cultivation. 1959-ran 135 head grown cows and 500 sheep and offsprings. Uses vetch and clover for sown pasture. 10-on hill, 11 on bottom, all was cleared.

Bonnie Tice Harvesting Weeping Lovegrass

Photograph of Bonnie Tice on a John Deer combine harvesting weeping lovegrass on 90 acre planting. The back of the photograph proclaims, "Bonnie Tice harvesting weeping lovegrass on a 90 acre planting. This planting is 2 years old and was fertilized in 1958 followed by being pastured most of that summer. In addition to being pastured, 2 cuttings of hay was removed which produced approximately 50 bales per core. Fertilizer was applied in 1959 at the rate of 50 lbs. of nitrogen per acre. The 1959 seed harvest was 10,400 lbs. of seed from the 90 acres. Since the seed harvest, a hay crop has been removed and approximately 69 head of cattle are being pastured."
