Carswell advises of a change in his preference regarding the flowers for the Whiteheads requesting that she select the color (if his preference of red does not work as well), the quantity and the placement in the home. Carswell advises, in a postscript, that the arrival of the Whiteheads is to be shortly after May 20th. Typewritten carbon copy bearing Esleeck Fidelity Onion Skin watermark. Attachment includes: Welcome home sentiment written by T. N. Carswell and to be sent with flowers ordered via Mrs. Eggleston for Laurence and Lucie Whitehead. Typewritten carbon copy bearing Assurance Opaque Parchment watermark.

A letter addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Whitehead from T. N. Carswell, dated June 28, 1963. Carswell expresses his appreciation for the gift to him of a brief case stating that Whitehead could not have selected and sent to him anything more genuinely appreciated.

The letter contains a notification by Collier of a meeting of the Board of Trustees which has been called by Mr. Haynes. Dinner will be served. He advises of the need of a resolution to dispose of property.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from James Basden, Secretary, Human Welfare Commission, Dallas 1, Texas dated May 24, 1963. Basden expresses his appreciation for the nice letter and for the quotation given to him by Carswell. He advises of his plans to use it in a speech.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from E. M. Collier, Administrator, Hendrick Memorial Hospital dated June 13, 1963. Collier reminds Carswell of the private tours that will start at 7:00 and of the receiving line composed of the trustees and their wives on Saturday evening. The Ladies' Auxilliary will light the fountain Friday evening, and they hope many will attend a dedicatory service on Sunday.

A letter written to Mrs. Hanks from T. N. Carswell dated June 22, 1963. Carswell comments on having seen the Memorial given for her Dad and Mother while touring the Minnie L. Anderson addition and of how his vivid recollections of her father, persist, "Hence this note of genuine appreciation to you - and Bernard." Carswell also reminicses of his aquaintance with Dr. Hollis [L. W. Hollis] and her mother and of the hospital built by Dr. Hollis. He compliments her decision in selecting Hendrick Memorial Hospital in which to place a marker dedicating the service of Dr. Hollis as a physician to the community in the early years of Abilene.
