Written below the photo are "T&P Odessa, Texas Station - This building was burned one night as the story goes the boys had a big poker game upstairs in the old Buchanan (Brown) Hotel. When the game was over about 3:00 am one of the boys challenged another to cut high cards with him to see who would burn the depot. It was never known for sure who lost.
