Souvenir booklet from the North Texas Normal College in Denton includes information about the terms of the college, a photograph of the college building, a list of faculty, coursework, information about musical instruction, a photograph of the chapel, and other relevant information. The name of Mrs. William (Effie Wright) Williams living at 516 W. Oak Street, has been written on the back in ink. We presume that she was the donor of the booklet.

Program for the commencement at Texas Normal College on July 30, 1892, includes a list of graduates and order of exercises. The library has five copies of the commencement in various colors. They belonged to Effie Wright who was in the Scientific Class of 1892.

Check from Exchange National Bank to Sheriff Callahan for 4.50 dollars on September 27, 1892. A note below the amount says, "to cover cost in work case." The check is signed by "Jagoe & Ponder." In 1892, W. A. Ponder was Vice President of the Exchange National Bank. There are two signatures on the back of the check for J. M. Jones and Sheriff Callahan.

Check from Exchange National Bank to Denton Mill & Co. for 8.34 dollars on October 22, 1891. The note above the amount says, "for J. W. Jagoe wheat account." The check is signed by Jagoe & Ponder. In 1892, W. A. Ponder was Vice President of the Exchange National Bank.

Wedding invitation for Mr. William Williams and Miss Effie Fay Branche, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Crow Wright. The couple was wed on October 27, 1897, at Bosco Bel, Denton, Texas.

The booklet contains a list of teachers and graduates of Denton city schools, the courses of study for the different grade groups, rules and regulations, by-laws of the school board, and the report of the superintendent.

The Osmunda Club tendered this program and dance card to Miss McNeely of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Misses Lena and Louise Comegys of Gainesville, Texas. The dance took place in the club rooms on January 31, 1896. The Osmunda Club's first organizational meeting was held on November 18th, 1895. Officers were elected and a name was chosen at the next club meeting. They held many fancy dress balls throughout the year.

Owsley, Sr., Grandmother of Clark, Lou, Stella, Eunice, Henry, Charlotte & Alvin. Louisa Owsley came here from Missouri in 1872 from Missouri with her husband, Dr. Henry Owsley, an allopath. She died in 1908." From newspaper articles, we have found that Louisa Owsley was born in Caldwell County, Kentucky in 1830 and died in Denton County in 1904. She was a midwife and homeopathic doctor.

According to the 1900 U.S. Census, Edgar Clark was born in May of 1870 and living with his widowed mother and siblings at the Clark home located at the corner of Center (which is now Carroll Blvd) and Mulberry streets in Denton, Texas. His occupation was listed as "bartender." James "Ed" Edwin Reed was born in California on February 22, 1871 to Myra Maybell Reed, who later became known as Belle Starr. He was shot and killed in Claremore, Indian Territory [Oklahoma], on December 14, 1896 while attempting to arrest two men - J. N. Clark and Joe Gibbs - charged with peddling whiskey. He was previously a deputy U.S. Marshall and was known for the killing of two outlaw brothers in Wagoner, Oklahoma: Zeke and Dick Crittendon. Ed Reed's notorious past included horse theft and stolen property in Fort Smith, Arkansas (c1889), and along with his brother, Russell, the murder of James …
