Interview with Irene and Bill Womack, a couple from two well-known Kerr County families, from Kerrville, Texas. The couple discusses their ancestors, the Reals and the Womacks. They also talk about the local people and places they remember growing up in Kerrville. The interview transcript includes photos of Mr. and Mrs. Womack and their family, on pages 31-36.

Transcript of an interview with Merle Timblin, Civilian Conservation Corps worker and U.S. Army WWII Veteran. Timblin discusses his childhood in western Pennsylvania; father’s work as a farmer, coal miner, and WPA blacksmith; life on farms and in mining towns during the Great Depression; decision to enroll in CCC before eighteenth birthday; experiences at CCC camps in Arizona and Pennsylvania; lessons learned from the CCC experience; experiences in the European Theater of World War II as radio operator in the U.S. Army Fourth Armored Division, including fighting in the Battle of the Bulge; lessons learned from experience in the Army; decision to relocate to Niagara Falls, N.Y., and thence to North Texas; career as a machinist and mechanic.

Oral History Interview with Jorge DurĂ³n Guerra, June 8, 2016
Mr. DurĂ³n Guerra grew up in a middle class family in northern Mexico; he lived in several Mexican cities while getting his education. He migrated to the U.S. upon reaching adulthood and lived for a while in Philadelphia before joining the Armed Forces. He finished his military career in Texas, and eventually settled in Austin, where he established the "El Azteca" restaurant, which stands to this day. He has been involved in community affairs for a very long time, and was one of the early members of the Austin G.I. Forum chapter. In the interview, Mr. DurĂ³n Guerra talks about the experience of migration, the discriminatory treatment that Mexican Americans received in housing, employment, etc. as well as his activism in community affairs.
