Making Book History: Engaging Maker Culture and 3D Technologies to Extend Bibliographical Pedagogy
This article describes how the 3Dhotbed project (an acronym for “3D Printed History of the Book Education”) harnesses maker culture to advance book history instruction by providing open-access 3D data through a digital library platform.

Accessing the Inaccessible: Capturing and Re-Purposing Metadata Prior to Digitization to Ensure Adequate Description and Access
Presented at the 2018 Texas Conference on Digital Libraries. This presentation provides a detailed look at how University of North Texas Libraries' Special Collections embarked upon a large-scale digitization project involving a portion of the highly requested A/V materials from the NBC-5/KXAS Television News collection, using a third-party vendor. This project included the use of snapshots to help repurpose metadata, then linked data tools in Excel and WikiMedia to create access to tape content titles.

Updates from the 3DHotbed Collection
This presentation highlights the progress of the 3D History of the Book Education (3Dhotbed) collection. The team has focused on creating workflows, promoting the collection, adding new material, and assessment of the collection by users. It was presented at the 2019 Texas Conference on Digital Libraries held in Austin, Texas.
