During a sleepless night, the composer read a variety of chapters from Verne's books and began playing basses, guitars, and their laptop. Recording of Natasha Barrett's Mobilis in Mobili. This work is the central axis of the larger electroacoustic work "Trade Winds" which was inspired by the vast expanse of sea. The title of the work comes from a novel by Jules Verne. This piece was commissioned by NoTAM with funds from the Norwegian Cultural Council and the Norwegian Composers' Fund. This work includes an excerpt from a sea shanty performed by the Storm Weather Shanty Choir.

Recording of Michele Biasutti's Treno in corsa. This work is a real time performance with digital elaboration of the sound of noisers (intonarumori), the noise machines built by Luigi Russolo. This piece was inspired by Russolo's painting, "Treno in corsa nella notte" made in 1911 and is based on some perceptive phenomena studied in the field of psychology of music such as masking, space-time perception, and some perceptive illusions on rhythm.

Recording of Andy Birtwistle's Balloonarticularity 80. This work was inspired by Jules Verne and his novel, "Around the World In 80 Days". This piece plays with the possibility of that book being a futuristic novel, rather than a piece of 19th century literature. In this piece, a Victorian traveler journeys into the future of the present, listening for differences in an increasingly homogeneous world. Recording of Marcus Bittencourt's Telemetry. This work was created as part of the open work project for the Synthèse Festival under the theme "Mondes futurs, automates et machines pour s'y projeter". The composer based this work on real telemetry by satellites and space probes like Sputnik and Polyot, as well as some sounds transmitted by the Huygens probe when it landed on the surface of Saturn's Titan moon. This piece was composed and manufactured with custom-made software developed by the composer specifically for this project.
