Asked by their parents what they would like to do, the first son answers he wants to join the army, the second that he wants to work. But, the third son refuses to work. The father leads the third son away to abandon him. The boy hears a tiger and has it try some fruit from the tree. While feeding the tiger, he skewers it. A pair of crows comes by and the boy catches the female, then makes the male check on the tiger before releasing her. Assured that the tiger is dead, the boy comes down from the tree. A pair of wildcats place a spell on him. when they run away, he gets control over their spell. He meets a pair of women and displays his magic to them. He tells the women to obey him, and that if they want to see his magic, they must marry him. They agree. After they've married, the boy refuses to pitch in on a building project, and the others decide to kill him. Their plan goes awry and they beg …

This is a conversation between Rawang speakers discussing establishing a school for teaching Rawang in their area. The classes happen on Sundays or in the evenings. They worry that students feel discouraged when they don't know parts of their language, especially older learners, so they would like to start classes when students are younger. They make a plan to train more teachers and create more books.

Transcription and translation of the recording of Raja Jamsheed Ali Khan narrating the story of "Maghlot ke Girkits" ('weasel and rat') in the Srinagar dialect. In this popular story two boys are born conjoined, and are separated by a knife. The two brothers are raised by two separate clans, always meeting in constant contention with each other, giving them the nicknames Maghlot ('weasel') and Girkits ('rat') for their physical and behavioral traits. Knowing the brothers would create instability, the king separates the kingdom into two halves, creating the divide between the Hunza and the Nagar people
