Letter from Ken Whalen to the TDNA Directors on January 30, 2006 with the subject Election of 2006 Treasurer and Appointment of New Director. The letter begins with the news that Gary Borders has been elected treasurer of the TDNA board of directors for 2006, however, it is time to appoint a new board member to replace Borders previous position as director. The nomination committee has recommended McAllen Monitor publisher M. Olaf Frandsen to fill Border's term. Attached to the letter is a response form needed to be faxed back with the the director's responses.

The Texas Daily Newspaper Association's deadlines for the approaching Award Contest, a list of awards and their details have been sent out to TDNA members for voting and nomination of their fellow colleagues. The list of awards are, the Bright Idea Award, Fred Hartman Excellence in Sportswriting Award, John Murphy Award for Excellence in Copy Editing, Frank Mayborn Award for Community Leadership and the Pat Taggart Award for Texas Newspaper Leader of the Year. Winners of the awards will be received at the annual TDNA meeting to be held, March 19, 2007.

The letter begins with the news of Bob Carlquist's resignation as vice present, thus making Charles Moser the new vice president of TDNA board of director. It is now necessary to elect a new treasurer for 2006. Included in the letter is a ballot of directors eligible to become the new treasurer.
