Interview with Alan W. "Buck" Saunders, a pilot during World War II. He discusses joining the Army Air Corps, becoming an airplane mechanic, and going to flight school for pilot training. He was stationed in India and flew supplies into China over the Himalayas (known by pilots as "the Hump"). In China, he traded items such as jewelry or opium for information on Japanese troop placements in Burma. He also discusses his meetings with native Burmese and talks about later experiences he had after the war and during the Vietnam War.

Interview with James F. Sansom, an officer in the U. S. Army during World War II. Sansom joined the Army in 1940 and began training on anti-aircraft guns in Florida. He was selected for Officer Candidate School (OCS) and was commissioned a second lieutenant in 1942. He was assigned to the 843rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Air Warning Battalion, which made its way to India via the Panama Canal and Australia. Shortly after reaching Calcutta, the unit moved to Myitkyina, Burma. After the war, Sansom was assigned to Sagumo Prison outside Tokyo where Japanese war criminals were being held while on trial for war crimes. He describes some of the routines and residents in the prison. Sansom taught Hideki Tojo how to play card games like gin rummy. Sansom also describes the process of executing convicted prisoners as he carried out some sentences. In all, he executed nine convicted war criminals.

Demand patterns for world oil and oil products show significant diversity by country, region, and product groupings. As a result of this diversity it is not possible to attach blame for the current level of price to any one nation, region, or product segment. The view that the oil market is international in scope and tightly interrelated is enhanced by the demand data. As a result of the integrated nature of the world oil market it is unlikely that any one nation acting on its own can implement policies that isolate its market from broader price behavior. As new major oil importers, notably China, and potentially India, expand their demand, the oil market likely will have to expand production capacity. This promises to increase the world’s dependence on the Persian Gulf members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, especially Saudi Arabia, and maintain upward pressure on price.

A discussion with Suungnem Bunghon of Leingangching, Tholung Beshot and Shekarnong Sankhil of Thamlapokpi about the names of villages which the Lamkangs abandoned and Kukis resettled there using the same names (Charangching Khullen-Khunkha). This was recorded at the seminar on culture and origin of the Lamkangs at Charangching village.

Shekarnong Sankhil and Tholung Beshot of Thamlapokpi discuss Tchaan Yamluung, a musical instrument used by the Lamkangs and the Kachin people in Myanmar, who are also called red people and can be our people.

A discussion of the names of the months in Lamkang with Thamnung Sankhil Tholungnu of Thamlakhuren, for example how in the month of Purdun, the cows came home from the jungle. They were discussing how some say or name them differently in some cases. Later they discuss the elders from different villages trying to see who is from which village.

Bunghon Suungnem of Leingangching, Beshot Tholung of Thamlapokpi, and Daniel Tholung of Thamlakhuren discuss the names of the months in Lamkang. He explains how some of the months were named differently by the Lamkang Council, which he finds incorrect and wants them to make corrections. He shares the different names given by people from different villages like the Mantri Pantha, which is different to what he knew. He shares how he requested the Lamkang Kver Kunpun to make the necessary corrections for future purposes. This was recorded during the Seminar on Culture and Origin of the Lamkangs.
