[Jane Ventura evening ensembles]

On display, a Jane Ventura evening ensemble of brown French organza and fake fur fabric with striped chinchilla feathers consisting of a sleeveless dress and matching feather cape, which the designer wore to the Pre-Opening Ball for the opening of the DFW Airport in 1973; and a Jane Ventura man’s formal dinner jacket of brown pheasant feathers with a brown satin lapel; fully lined in brown silk. Jane tailored this jacket for her husband, Sam Ventura, to match one of her own ensembles, which they wore to the Opera Ball in 1968.

The exhibition, included a Jane Ventura evening dress of white crepe with jet bead trim at the bodice and horizontal rows of black coq feathers, worn to the Crystal Charity Ball in 1978; and another Ventura dress white tucked nylon trimmed with pearls, rhinestones, and white marabou feathers at neckline and sleeves; skirt of white goose feathers trimmed with marabou feathers at the hem, worn to the Dallas Theater Center Gala in 1971.
