Mediteranean riots colors

Recording of Ivan Elezović's Mediteranean riots colors. The composer of this work considers it "program poetry" and includes poetic text to describe the video. This work includes various abstract visuals that vary in color and theme, all abstract and psychedelic in nature. The video opens with a title card as well as written text describing the piece. This video is accompanied by electroacoustic audio.

Two Studies on Video Synthesis

Recording of Riccardo Dapelo's Two Studies on Video Synthesis. The composers intention behind this composition was to explore the interaction between image (generally abstract) and sound. They explore an environment-system in which these two worlds interact simultaneously at both level of conception and perception. The work is split into two sections: Studio I - Variations of Complex Numbers Over a Green Space and Studio II - Dancing Line Patterns on the Borderline Between Darkness and Light.

Vent

Recording of Frederick Szymanski's Vent. This is a sound and image piece that attempts to develop a dialogue between sound and movement. The visual part was created through the use of real-time non-standard 3D techniques. The resulting series of movements are accompanied by sound gestures. Sound and image are sometimes aligned, but at other times they diverge as the sound becomes increasingly active and complex.

Imago Die

Recording of Nikos Stavropoulos' Imago Die. According to the composer, this work is meant to represent the visual and sonic image of a form that exhibits the kinetic and morphoplastic properties of a self-defined conscious organism. The work evokes a never-ending journey; a constant universal oscillation that even when it appears to have stopped, keeps vibrating with the finest and most indiscernible movement. The imagery in this video includes that of an eye transforming into a small, circular organism and then back again.

Oquedades

Recording of Stefano Scarani's Oquedades. This video is accompanied by audio that deals with poetic texts through electroacoustic processing. The visuals of the video include the imagery of a naked woman as well as the face of the woman speaking. There are also visuals of sea life that are shown throughout as well as bookending the video as a whole.

Recording of Rudolf Ruzicka's Creation. This video is a large-scale work and consists of 9 parts each with their own Latin title: Stridor, Clangor, Sonor, Clamor, Fremor, Canor, Fragor, Rumor, and Plangor. The inspiration behind the work is the concept of creation, especially when considering the significance of man on Earth in both a creative (birth) and destructive (death) sense. The video includes visuals of space, fire, and the ocean as well as Middle Eastern text and hand imagery. This video is accompanied by an electroacoustic composition.

Friction Sticky Rough

Recording of Frederick Szymanski's Friction Sticky Rough. This work is a sound and image installation for multiple video projection and loudspeakers. The sound component of this piece involves developing musical structures by manipulating interactions at the sound-particle level. The composer used this same concept to create the visual aspect. The video consists of simulations of particle paths.

Thermal Diffraction

Recording of Nikos Stavropoulos' Thermal Diffraction. This work is a video composed alongside a recording of a piano and live electronics, however at the time of metadata creation the recording is video only with no sound. The video was created by the composer James Mooney at the University of Sheffield and includes video footage of the compositional process and performance of the work on piano. These videos were then digitally processed to form abstract images that were arranged in a way to mimic that of the composition.

["Fatbacks and Collard Green: An Exaggerated Black Family Drama" matinee performance video]

Video footage from The Black Academy of Arts and Letters recorded during the 3 pm matinee show of Flatback and Collared Greens at the Clarence Muse Cafe Theatre on October 21st, 2000. The footage shows the stage set with a dining room and the play begins with the introduction of all the members of the family. After the introductions, the drama ensues in heated conversations around the table about morals, religion, generational differences and comedy.
