Bullard talks about her Mexican-American family values, her use of drugs and alcohol in high school, her attitudes toward the Vietnam War, hippie activities at Allen's Landing in Houston, Texas, conflicts between rednecks and hippies, her attraction to the musical groups of the Sixties, the importance of lyrics in Sixties music, her decision to attend the festival, drug use at the festival, Janis Joplin's performance, and the influence of the festival on her life.

Interview with printer Johnny Cox. The interview includes Cox's personal experiences about attending the Texas International Pop Festival in Lewisville, Texas, enrolling in Texas Tech University, and playing in bands while at Texas Tech. Cox talks about generational conflicts with his parents, taking guitar lessons as a teenager, the appeal of the Beatles and their music, his high school friends and activities, changing clothing styles in the Sixties, meeting his first wife, his opposition to the Vietnam War, his decision to attend the Texas International Pop Festival, drug use at the festival, his first personal use of LSD, how LSD put the music in a different perspective for him, the "free stage," and the Texas International Pop Festival as a turning point in his life. He also comments on Janis Joplin's performance, Canned Heat and B.B. King, the performances of Led Zeppelin and Spirit, and crowd behavior at the festival.

Transcript of an interview with Norvell Hill Williams Reed, a longtime Denton resident and former resident of Denton's historic all-black Quakertown neighborhood. Reed shares concerning her childhood in Quakertown; family history; family's forced move out of Quakertown to Solomon Hill neighborhood of Denton; race relations in Denton; participation in Denton Christian Women's Fellowship; family's historical memories of Quakertown. She recalls her childhood and education in Dallas and New York City; love of piano and musical education; decision to become one of the first African American students at North Texas; experiences as a college student, including racist incidents on campus, and as a boarder in Southeast Denton; decision to drop out in 1958; marriage to Raymond Logan, move to California, and return to Denton; decision to return to UNT as a student in 2005 and experiences on campus in the 21st century; 2011 graduation.
