Included in the letter is a draft agenda that is subjected to changes.

A newspaper clipping featuring an article on Dr. Jack Davis, Regents Professor turned Dean of the newly established College of Visuals Arts. The College of Visual Arts was known to be the Arts department has been redesigned as the School of Visual Arts from the Texas Higher Education Board and Dr. Davis has been appointed dean, subject to approval by the Board of Regents.

The article written about The Getty Trust with an endowment of $3.5 billion is granting $3.75 million towards art education reformation and implementation in the public school system to teach children art history, art knowledge, art production and aesthetics. The entire articles goes into the history of the Getty Center and their mission to art education.

In regards of McCarter's enthusiasm for the presentation regarding "The Wanderers," and mentions David Coffey doing a superb job amplifying the content written by Andrew Harris. McCarter says that it is imperative that art teachers at both an elementary and secondary level be exposed to excellent presentations and that Georgia Blades is working with the program for Texas Art Education Fall Meeting in Fort Worth, hoping that Holland and Blades could connect for a repeat presentation to the members of TAEA. Enclosed in the letter to Holland, McCarter has sent a newsletter of the National Art Education Association, for Holland to get a feeling of strength from the teacher organization. McCarter writes that Mitchell's participation in the workshop for Art Teachers from Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD was very appreciated and that Mitchell brings a special insight into the problems NTIEVA faces. McCarter writes that Mitchell and Sonja Starnes should be able to build a DBAE program for the schools.

Duke expresses some concern with the content of the National Arts Standards draft and promises McCarter if he could give written feedback no later than October 1st, the Center will pay him.

In regards to Starnes's participation in the workshop for elementary art teaches at Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. Starnes's leadership was insightful for the other faculty about the implementation of DBAE, discipline-based arts education, in HEB schools and McCarter is looking forward to working with her.

In regards to Jeff Patchen speaking at the Young Audiences conference in Dallas. Davis and his NTIEVA co-director Bill McCarter have discussed bringing Patchen to the University of North Texas, however, there is no justifiable reason to bring him to the School of Visual Arts since Patch is a musician. Davis is planning on sharing Jericho's letter to the David Sharder, Dean of the College of Music as he might have an interested in Patchen speaking with the music faculty.

McCarter, Davis and Barry respond by answering and clarifying all the questions the Getty Center had about their new program.

Requesting that McCarter review the "Discipline-Based Art Education: The Quiet Evolution in Six Regional Staff Development Consortia," also known as the Regional Institute Progress Report. Jones writes that McCarter's input is valuable and would appreciate if he provided a written response that answers the questions Jones has added to the letter.

In regards to their informative progress report covering January through June of 1993. Rosenberg writes that their FY94 request for funding has been delivered to Leilani Lattin Duke's hands and forwarded to Harold Williams of J. Paul Getty Trust for review. Rosenberg writes that she has every confidence that Williams will approve of the funding.

In regards to the presentation Peel gave on webbing as a technique for vocabulary and concept developing in DBAE, discipline-based art education. McCarter believes the workshop went very well and that faculty from Bedford Heights had shown sincere enthusiasm about the program.
