Interview with Lloyd Shipman, a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Dallas, Texas. Shipman discusses his family and education, the impact of the Great Depression, joining the CCC and assignment to Bartlett, Texas, work as a typist, discipline and regimentation in the camp, daily routine, education services, recreation, and his thoughts on the impact of the CCC. In appendix are a chapter from an autobiography by Shipman, and two poems that he wrote.
