The letter is in regards to prior correspondence between Davis and Duke from a letter on May 22, and which involved a recommendation that the Center consider providing a session at the next NAEA convention on the progress of the Regional institutes. Duke agrees that the timing is right and the program is far along that they can provide substantive report on what they are learning, what problems continue to perplex them and what is working. Duke and Vicki Rosenberg agreed to talk about the idea after her return at the end of June.

Hanson has developed a unit that vertically slice through the grades, all organized by a big idea. They started with a multi-faceted big idea that would be addressed as components at various grade levels. They continue to describe their confusion about what The Getty Center for Education in Arts purpose for having them curriculum writing, Hanson ends the letter hoping McCarter and Hanson meet again at some point.
