Carswell refers to the letters by Jackson to the City and his ownership of Lot 24 O T 1451 BLK 147 1, City of Abilene, Taylor County Texas. He advises of money owed him for taxes he paid on her property, "Sooner or later you and I will have to settle our dual ownership claims as to Lot 24."

Pitt references a letter from Carswell in which he requested a complete statement of his account.
