In a previous letter dated December 2, 1968, Nixon requests that Carswell name an exceptional individual for appointment whom Nixon can bring into his Administration prompting this reply letter by Carswell in which he makes the recommendation of Dr. Rupert N. Richardson for an appointment to the new Administration.

A letter written to Mr. Cecil G. Goff, Dallas 1, Texas from T. N. Carswell dated November 19, 1964. Carswell advises Goff of his acceptance of the appointment by the Baptist General Convention of Texas to the Board of Hendrick Memorial Hospital. Carswell states, "Mr. Caldwell, a fellow Board member, and I survive of the original Charter members of the Board, and I only of the founding committee."

The letter contains a notification by Collier of a meeting of the Board of Trustees which has been called by Mr. Dillingham to discuss a change in room rates to meet added expense which will be incurred under the Wage and Hour Law as of February 1.

Carswell requests that Jernigan solicit the support and influence of Representative-elect Stuckey in behalf of Representative Omar Burleson to fill the vacancy on the Rules Committee. He offers the season's greetings.
