This is a research paper written by Mike Shurley for an American History Class at Marfa High School in 1968. It tells the story of Marcellus and Ethel Bryant with some history of their family, his service in World War I, their courtship and marriage, his ranc, his oil fields, his interest in aviation and his support for James C. Mattern's flight around the world, his life in politics and relationship with LBJ, and his role in the building of the Twin Buttes Dam to bring water to drought stricken West Texas.
