Two bus loads of school kids from Graham High School got more than they bargained for Friday in their planned visit to the State Fair of Oklahoma. The two buses were in a rear-end collision on the Draper Expressway near the Agnew Ave. exit about a mile from the fairgrounds. The collision sent a Graham girl to St. Anthony Hospital for treatment of minor cuts and bruises. It occurred as three Graham buses carrying 120 students and six teachers were awaiting to exit to May Ave. The third bus driven by a Graham driver education teacher, was not involved in the accident. Injured was Peggy Shannon, 17, a Graham junior who was thrown from her seat near the driver, She suffered cuts on her foot."

Caption: "Oklahoma City police held a 7 1/2 foot Boa constrictor in custody for a while today. When officers spotted the serpent, it was wrapped around a man who was later booked as W. A. Chickanoka of Glasgow, Ky. The man was arguing with a clerk at a downtown hotel, trying to convince the clerk that he had a room reservation. Chickanoka, who also called himself "Wachickanoka, King of the Snakes," was booked for disorderly conduct. He posted $20 bond and was released. The snake king was wearing a tuxedo and stovepipe hat when he was arrested."
