Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "They all had two things in common - they were poor and they were hungry. They came to wait in a two-block long line Christmas Day for what weas, in one man's words, the "first decent meal I've had all year." The annual Christman dinner was provided for the 35th year by Oklahoma City Rep. Red Andrews for the thousands of persons who otherwise would go without it. Andrews recalled Wednesday when he was a youngster living ina boys' home in Houston. "It was Christmas 1910," he said. "None of us boys had a coat or shoes and it looked as though we weren't going to get anything to eat that day. "A man named Jesse H. Jones gathered up merchants from the town and brought us food and clothes," he continued. "For years afterward I though about how wonederful that day was and, when I finally had the opportunity, I decided to do something for the poor people in Oklahoma City."
