The general purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between college environmental press variables and the attrition characteristics of college freshmen at Southern Methodist University.

The problem of this study was to compare the relative gains made in the development of oral language skills in two groups of first grade pupils when two different approaches to beginning reading instruction were used. The effects of short duration exercise routines on the development of physical fitness.

This study was concerned with making a comparative analysis of the relative effectiveness of two teaching methods in increasing students' (a) knowledge and understanding of principles, (b) ability in critical thinking, and (c) science reasoning and understanding in an introductory college zoology course. The two methods were (a) a laboratory-centered inductive-deductive method and (b) the more commonly found deductive-descriptive method organized as a large lecture section with smaller laboratory sections.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between certain upset family conditions and the performance of young children from these families as measured by selected instruments. The intelligence level at which the reading clinic was most effective; 3. The statistical significance of the variation in group intelligence test IQ's; and 4. The correlation between group intelligence test IQ's and total reading achievement.
