Traffic officer Ed Grist said the truck, driven by Gene Lee Smith, 23, Bixby, was traveling northeast on the roadway when it struck the car from behind. The auto`s driver, George L. Botell, 36, E. St. Louis, Ill., and his wife suffered lacerations and other injuries, Grist said."
