A letter to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Horace J. Blackwell, Senior Vice President & Cashier, First National Bank In Dallas, dated October 27, 1964. Blackwell replies to Carswell's request for Cotton Bowl tickets. He expresses his regret that he was not in the last time Carswell was in Dallas.

Carswell advises of an attached check for which Ideals is to "fill in" to cover a subscription for one year for Ed, Christi, Annette and Sherri Rhodes of Abilene, Texas. Carswell requests that the greeting card carry a message expressing his "great good fortune to have such wonderful young friends" and is conveying his appreciation of that friendship with a subscription of IDEALS hoping they will enjoy the contents. He quotes Carl Schurz, "Ideals are like the stars - we never reach them, but like the mariners of the sea, we chart our course by them."

A letter written to Mr. Tommy Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Grover Nelson, Abilene, Texas, dated May 11, 1964. Nelson expresses his appreciation for the support shown by Carswell in his campaign for County Commissioner.

A letter written to Mr. Pat O'Keefe, State Democratic Headquarters, Austin, Texas, from Virgil Musick, Abilene, Texas, dated June 4, 1964. Musick requests an additional badge for Mr. T. N. Carswell of Abilene who will act as secretary during the Houston Convention.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Lyle Thoburn, President, The Bowman Products Company, Cleveland, Ohio 44101, dated November 25, 1964. Thoburn advises of his agreement with Carswell that it was regretful Bob Taft was not elected instead of Johnson. He adds that it is of interest that Carswell's father and uncle and Thoburn's grandfather were all wounded in the battle of Franklin, Tennessee.
