[Report regarding the interrogation of Jack Ruby]

Report to Chief J. E. Curry by P. T. Dean concerning the interrogation of Jack Ruby by Federal Bureau of Investigation Agent Forrest V. Sorrells. The interrogation occurred approximately five to ten minutes after Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald. Dean states that he was present throughout the interview and summarizes the questions Sorrells asked and the answers that Ruby gave. Ruby stated that there was no connection between him and Oswald, and that he shot him because he knew Oswald would get the death penalty anyway. He also stated that he and his sister were very emotional people and were taking the assassination of the President very hard. Dean notes that the answers appeared rational throughout the interview, except that Ruby's eyes teared up when he referred to President Kennedy.
