Lawson, 44, smashed his plane into Shawnee Hall, once the administration building, now a classroom building. Lawson, a former OBU student, was unaware when he gave a warning to clear the administration that a new building (2) had replaced Shawnee Hall. Final examinations were in progress when Lawson's plane burst into an un occupied room."

Shawnee--An army reserve pilot was killed when his helicopter crashed on U. S. 270 east of Shawnee late Sunday. The plummeting ship barely missed a car carrying three Pottawatomie County residents and set the vehicle afire. Killed in the crash was CWO James Edward Sivils, 28, of Shawnee who was ferrying the helicopter from Seminole to the Shawnee airport."
