Script from the WBAP-TV/NBC station in Fort Worth, Texas, covering a news story about the preparations for the landfall of Hurricane Hilda, which threatens the coasts of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas; evacuations, securing buildings, moving boats out of the way and reinforcing levies are among the preparations which may destroy the Louisiana sugarcane crop. An addition to the story includes information about Southwestern Bell Telephone Company operators from Fort Worth leaving Love Field to go to Houston to help cover the overloaded switchboards for the Gulf Coast area, and repairmen being brought in and put on standby to restore phone service as quickly as possible.
