Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "Not visible yet, but a major Edmond improvement, is the new sewer plant to be built in the left portion of the area shown in this aerial photo of the site on Western Ave. two miles north of Edmond Rd. Growth in all directions brought challenges, achievements and plenty of problems to Edmond in 1963. Officals and citizens consolidated gains made the previous year and set the stage for more progress in 1964. A persual of the year's council minutes with City Manager J. B. Marshall shows that a long-range sewer project involving nearly $1 million brought some of the hardest, most successful work in1963. Voters had approved a sewer plant in 1962, but the search and negotiations for a site extended far into the neaw year. Engineers' choice was a 40-acre tract owned by the state school land commission."
