Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "A pillar of flames shoot skyward as a blazing oil fire produced an awesome spectacle on the Oklahoma City skyline. A raging oil fire erupted in the pre-dawn hours Wednesday near the busy intersection of SE 29 and Eastern, lighting up Oklahoma City skies for four hours and hampering morning rush traffic. Leaping flames ricocheted through six oil tanks after a trembling explosion shook the southeast section of the city and produced a flare-up seen miles around. About 40 firemen doggedly fought the tricky fire. Fire fighters attempted mainly to control the blaze unitl some 2,5000 barrels of waste crude oil in the tanks were exhausted. The fire went out at 10 a.m. after burning 7 hours.......The oil tanks belonged to C&B oil field service company. The oil itself was used by Ellsworth Bros. Truck Line, which leases space from the C&B service company, located adjacent to the tanks. Charles Wooden, a partner in C&B Service Co., estimated the loss at $15,000."
