It's because there's a National League of Insured Savings Association convention and Big game that week. He mentions that Marie and himself would be delighted to have dinner with him on the 20th and that they're looking forward to seeing himn.

Letter from Arthur M. Alpert to Sandy mentioning that Harris Kempner asked him to send Sandy $200.00 but he realized that he got $300.00 from the bookkeeping department. So, he's holding that $200.00 until further word from Sandy. He mentions that Harris asked him to remind Sandy that his mother's birthday is the 26th, and that they'll be at Fairmont in San Francisco.

Letter from Harris Leon Kempner to Shrub regarding the job abroad for the summer that Harris talked to Van Mercer about. He also asks Shrub to write what's happening on the trip. He also enclosed a letter received for Shrub in the mail along with the receipt from the Harvard Fund for his subscription.

Letter from Beverly Joan Galanda to I. H. Kempner discussing her current project, a biographical sketch of Rabbi Henry Cohen, citing Cohen's significant status and contributions. She also mentions her Jewish heritage and a desire to provide an original perspective on Cohen's work with the Texas Prison System in the late 1920s. She expresses regret at not being able to visit Galveston due to financial constraints.
