Photograph of Washita watershed, damage to front slope of Site 26 Wildhorse Creek Watershed. Dam runs almost due east and west. Part of slope was rip-rapped with rock from spillway but rock lacked about 6 feet being high enough to prevent this damage. SCS plans to repair this damage.

"Doc" Ely, cooperator with Stephens County S&WCD, stands in an alfalfa field pasture below the dam of site site 34 of a Wild Horse Creek Watershed project on his farm 4 miles from Velma, Okla. Ely says the lake provides irrigation water and the project also gives him flood protection.

Washita Watershed Gas Line
Photograph of site containing a 10 inch high pressure gas line of which 550 lineal feet will be in the permanent pool. Concrete anchors were poured on this pipe at 50 feet intervals. The Lone Star Gas Company, owner of the pipeline, made all excavations, rewrapped and placed reinforciing steel around pipe. Local sponsoring agency furnished cement for achors.

Photograph of Washita Watershed, Wildhorse Creek site 22. Principal spillway is concrete pipe under the dam. At back toe of dam steel, galvanized, corrugated, 8 guage, asphalt coated culvert pipe was substituted for concrete pipe. The culvert pipe is leaking at joint, rivets, and seams. There was some vibration on the last joint of culvert pipe.

Photograph of waterway. This gully was a critical silt source area on the flood plain of Wildhorse Watershed. Gully was shaped into a watersay and a pond was built at the head of it with a pipe in it (Ok-14131-3 & 4). Waterway will be needed this fall and sprigged with rows 18' apart, and fertilized. Soil is 7s-C-13.

It was decided that the dam and spillways of existing structures owned by the city of Duncan need an application of fertilizer.
