Two-piece suit of coral pink wool. (a) Saque-style coral jacket of a loosely woven wool. V-neckline with a standard notched collar and short lapels. 3/4 length sleeves are cut in one with the jacket body and have two triangular shaped gussets under the arm. Lapped center front opening has one round plastic coral button and bound buttonhole placed at the yoke seam. The closure is supplemented by one snap and one hook and eye closure hidden at the waist. Front has a yoke cutting across the bust line. A belt of self fabric ties in front and passes through openings at the side seams, enabling the back to hang freely. Ensemble - Blouse and Pants

Lounge ensemble in pink silks. The pantsuit consists of a blouse and pants. The blouse is of pink silk, constructed as two layers. The inner lining layer is of plain pink gauze. The outer layer is of pink silk heavily decorated with patterns created by shibori technique dying. The blouse has long sleeves and a center-front zipper closure that runs almost the entire length of the garment and has a single hook-and-eye at throat. The collar, cuffs, hem, and flap over the zipper are a small ruffle of the same materials. The shibori patterns use green, yellow, blue, and the original white of the fabric to create bands of tiny "puckers", large circular forms, and abstract shapes. The pants are of pink silk taffeta, about ankle length, with elastic cuffs. Plain waistband, with zipper closure at center front and single hook-and-eye at waistband. Described in early records as harem pants, but lacking the fullness associated with that style. Both garments have the same series of labels. Breton-style hat

Hat of pink and white silk printed with a pattern of harlequin diamonds. Designed as a modified Breton hat, the high crown is gently domed, and encircled at base by a narrow hatband of the same pink and white silk fabric. The wide brim extends outwards, then curves out, up, over, and back in, so that the edge of the brim is pointing back to the lower part of the crown, similar to a sombrero. The brim is lined/faced with the same fabric. The crown is unlined, allowing inner white stiffened net to show, and has an inner off-white grosgrain ribbon headband and small comb to help secure hat to wearer's head. No designer's labels.
