Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "Marchers proceed along Lawton's Third Street Saturday evening en route to city's tavern district for religious service About 500 teen-agers gathered on the Comanche County courthouse lawn late Saturday and then marched en masse to the bar area on Lawton's Third Street where a brief religious service was held. The youths, from 19 Southern Baptist churches in southwestern Oklahoma attending a "Crusade for Christ" rally in Lawton were led on their four-block march by two police cars and two mounted officers. The marchers' ranks swelled en route along Third Street, mainly followed by curious residents and Fort Sill soldiers out on the town. Rev. Wayne Bristow, an evangelist from Lubbock, texas, conducted a brief service midway along the route. Mrs. martha Krueger, also of Lubbock, assisted in the service, playing gospel tunes on her guitar and leading the group in religious singing...At the end of the trek three buses took the marchers and willing spectators to Burch Sadium on the Cameron College campus where the "Tell Lawton Crusade" was in progress...The "Crusade for Christ" at which Rev. Bristow is one of the featured speakers continues through Sunday night."
