Onionskin paper carbon copy of letter from Frank Ferree of Harlingen, Texas to the Texas Good Neighbor Commission in Austin, Texas, dated May 27, 1952. The letter addresses discriminatory decisions of attorneys during jury selection in the Texas courts when choosing between Latin American or Anglo jurors. The letter also relates details of judgment in court case against Roberto Jiminez in Brownsville, mentioning irregularities in jury selection and possible perjury of witnesses.

Letter to Ralph Guzman from John J. Herrera thanking Guzman for his visit to Houston, and inviting him to the LULAC National convention from June 10th to 12th. Herrera mentions that the housing case will be ready to file soon.

Letter to All League of United Latin American Citizens Councils from Arturo Vasquez, National Treasurer July 5, 1955. Vasquez requests Councils of LULAC to come together and pay their fines and make sure that all financial matters are in order before the end of his service as Treasurer. Vasquez mentions that if financial matters are not in order, that the council will not be recognized at the National Convention.

Letter to John J. Herrera from M.C. Gonzalez, dated May 9, 1956 asking Herrera to endorse Gonzalez and support him as he runs for office of the National President of LULAC. Gonzalez was the presenter of the nomination speech for National President for John J. Herrera.

Letter to John J. Herrera from Frank M. Pinedo, May 10, 1955 asking Herrera to be chair a seminar on "Social Welfare" at the LULAC National Convention in Galveston. Pinedo gives Herrera details on the agenda for his presentation and requests a response on whether Herrera can participate.

Herrera agrees to be the chairman to the seminar on "Social Welfare." Herrera requests a copy of the program of speakers and seminars to be announced on the LULAC radio program in Houston.

Onionskin paper carbon copy of letter from John J. Herrera to Luciano Santoscoy, sending greetings and to inform Santoscoy that he was in Bryan, Texas for the inauguration of Bryan Council No. 221's home and ball park. Herrera also talks about his participation in the commemoration of San Jacinto Day (April 21) at the San Jacinto Monument. Herrera gives a bit of history about himself: "I am also a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas due to my relation to Pedro Herrera, who fought at San Jacinto, Blas Herrera of Bear County in San Antonio, who was a scout for Sam Houston, and Francisco Ruiz, alcalde [mayor] of San Antonio during the Texas Revolution, and one of the two native Texans who signed the Texas Declaration of Independence." Herrera praises Santoscoy in the remaining portion of the letter on a job well done on the LULAC News publication.

Letter from David Adame, Governor of Texas District Eight, to all League of United Latin American Citizens in District Eight in Texas asking all of the members in District Eight to attend the Texas District Eight Convention on May 29, 1955 at the Y.M.C.A. at 1600 Louisiana, Houston, Texas. Adame informs all of the members that there will be a minimal fee and that the attendance of District Eight members is imperative for the continued success of District Eight: "Lulac District Eight in Texas has always been a good district and now is the BEST and the LARGEST in MEMBERSHIP." The convention would host the election of District Governor for District Eight and would have in attendance: Frank Pinedo, Felix Tijerina, Alfred Hernandez and John J. Herrera.

Letter from Felix Rios to John J. Herrera. Rios asks Herrera to send him "Whole works in regard to the National funds."

Onionskin paper carbon copy of letter from John J. Herrera to G.C. Martinez of Galveston Council 151, asking Martinez to send a Lulac Program so that Herrera can have the events planned announced over the radio station KLVL. Herrera also asks Martinez to have Brother Cliff Lopez, chaplain of the Bryan Council, give the official prayer at the Convention in Galveston. Herrera tells Martinez of his plans to be a moderator at one of the seminars and mentions that it will be a "tight fight for the National Presidency."

Letter from John J. Peres to John J. Herrera, typed on Port Shipyard letterhead, and dated May 23, 1959. In the letter, Peres explains why he will not be at the convention in Chicago and why he is no longer an active member of League of United Latin American Citizens.
