Regarding Herrera's request of a memento of the Liberty ships, Thomas says he will refer it to the Maritime Administration, and Thomas will let Herrera know their response.

Wedding invitation for the daughter of Mrs. Adelaida Flores Uda. de Barraza and Mr. Procopio Herrera Quintana and the son of Mrs. Tomasita Rodriguez de Herrera. The invitation for the wedding of Maria del Rosario and Procopio indicates that the wedding was held in the Mexican city of Mazatlán, Sinaloa at the Basilica del la Immaculada Concepcion on January 31, 1955.

Letter from F.A. Hernandez, President of League of United Latin American Citizens Council Number 132, to Frank M. Pinedo, asking Pinedo to please "absolve Council No. 132 publicly of any connotation of guilt" in relation to a crime committed by LULAC Council No. 8. According to the letter, LULAC Council 8 Lodge was raided by the Texas Liquor Board, which found the operation of an open saloon at the LULAC lodge. This resulted in a "flow of bad publicity" as well as being "subjected to considerable embarrassment and criticism." Hernandez calls on Pinedo to take swift and "stern corrective measures" to resolve the matter of Council No. 8 to bring order and stability back to other LULAC councils as well as Council No. 132. "We cannot sacrifice our past accomplishments and future goals, because a few deviate from the only known course leading toward our Aims and Purposes."

Letter from John J. Herrera to Carter Snooks, owner and publisher of Refugio Timely Remarks, asking Carter to publish the recent organization of the Refugio LULAC Men's Council.

The author of the letter states "I hope that the action taken by the Supreme Council will not keep you from working very closely with me on LULAC matters [...] I would like to appoint you as a Chairman of a National Committee to study ways and means of increasing the educational opportunities that are available to persons of Spanish extraction."

"It is no longer safe to act on behalf of the Lulac Organization, for the danger of impeachment without a hearing will menace our every action or inaction [...] it pains me greatly to know that our Organization, the Supreme Council, would be guilty of condemning without an opportunity to be heard."

League of United Latin American Citizens Address from Joe Garza, First National Vice President, date February 26, 1955, asking the Ladies and Men Councils to sponsor different organizations; for example, Girl and Boy Scouts of America, March of Dimes. Garza also calls for councils to report activities that each council participates in for a program committee report. There is also a call to Texas to increase its numbers.

This document was written to detail and elaborate on a monetary donation received from Felix Tijerina, Texas Regional Governor of the League of United Latin American Citizens, to organize and fund a Road Show and Dance for the purpose of raising funds for an Educational Program.

Letter from Council 188 from Rosenberg, Texas to John J. Herrera. Elias Guerrero, Chairman, Carlos M. Garcia, and Marcos Reyes cordially requesting Herrera's presence as a speaker at the Annual Banquet and appointment of new officers on January 9, 1955. Council 188's event was to take place at the county fairgrounds of Rosenberg, Fort Bend County, Texas.

Letter from J.R. Lujan to John J. Herrera. Lujan invites John J. Herrera, along with his wife Olivia, as guests of honor to the League of United Latin American Citizens Charter Installation of Officers Banquet. Lujan states that he has lined up Frank M. Pinedo, Rogers Kelley and Joe Kilgore as speakers.

Letter from Luciano Santoscoy to John J. Herrera. Santoscoy thanks Herrera for his support on the LULAC Refugio Council. Santoscoy informs Herrera that Tony Campos, of Lubbock, Texas, was interested in the formation of a council and asks Herrera to follow up with Campos to give guidance and more information on the formation of a council. In a handwritten note at the bottom, Santoscoy says, "P.S. Please give me your valued opinion on the LULAC Committee their Duties and Functions booklet that I wrote and National Office distributed to all councils."
