Agreement regarding petition of Augustine Picaso versus Trustees of the Nixon Independent School District of Nixon, Texas, dated December 3, 1951. This is the rendering of final agreement following the hearing of the above petition before the Commissioner of Education of the State of Texas, J. W. Edgar. It was agreed that segregation practices in Nixon Independent School District shall cease with regards to children of Latin-American descent.

Herrera writes regarding the blacklisting by the Mexican Government of Brazoria County. Herrera requests a record of complaints of discrimination against Brazoria County which he will use during his meeting with Brazoria County. Herrera also requests a representative from the Consul General's office to attend the meeting with him.

"I don't see anything wrong in the efforts of the American Gi Forum conducting this type of civic drive in the Valley. I think it should have been done long ago." Herrera writes that the Latin American people of Mexican descent should all be able to vote and pay the poll tax in preservation and contribution to the "American way of life."

This letter is in reply to Badge's letter of November 29, 1952 inviting Herrera to meet with the committee with regards to the Mexican government blacklisting of Brazoria County. Herrera accepts the invitation and has invited Rodolfo Rodriguez, President of the Freeport LULAC Council, and a representative of the Consul General of Mexico for Texas' office to attend. Herrera also requests that public officials of Brazoria County be in attendance to offer assurances of good faith.
