Minutes of Immigrant Labor Committee of Brazoria County Chamber of Commerce meeting held December 9, 1952. The minutes report on meeting John Herrera, LULAC National President, along with the Brazosport Schools Superintendent, a representative of the Angleton Rotary Club, Brazoria County Attorney, a representative of the local newspapers, and the President of the Brazoria LULAC Council. The committee discussed the blacklisting of Brazoria County by the Mexican Government regarding labor issues and how to remove the county from this list. Specific instances of discrimination were brought forth, and assurances were given by county representatives that steps had been taken or would be taken to correct such charges of discrimination. Herrera states that he will discuss this issue with the new President of Mexico and make a report on his return from Mexico.
