The primary purpose of this dissertation was to provide a technique for the development, evaluation, and validation of cases to be used for teaching courses in job evaluation. The same technique as developed in this study might have some degree of application to business cases other than those found in job evaluation. The secondary purpose was to provide an initial set of cases to be used in teaching job evaluation.

"The problem of this study is to determine whether or not the financial grants available under the Texas state program of aid to dependent children are adequate to meet the needs of the persons receiving such grants. In accomplishing this objective, it became necessary to make a survey of the Texas state program of aid to dependent children as administered by the Texas State Department of Public Welfare. The basis upon which aid is granted, the amount of grants available, and a study of legislation governing the state program of aid to dependent children will be given prominence in this investigation. Likewise, a somewhat detailed study of twenty families who are recipients, or who have recently been recipients of aid to dependent children, all located in Erath County, Texas, will be presented as typical representations of such families all over the state of Texas who receive grants of aid for dependent children."-- leaf 1.

The purpose of this study is to make a comparative analysis of the development of high school library standards since 1918 by taking into consideration the factors of rapid growth of high school enrollments, modifications of the basic philosophy of education, and the development of secondary school libraries.

The primary purpose of this study was to develop the considerations and techniques for the selection, development, and validation of laboratory experience units in general biology for prospective elementary school teachers. The completed laboratory experience unites developed in this study may serve as resources of activities for college instructors who teach general biology to undergraduate majors in elementary education. For purposes of this study the laboratory experience unites were centered about those principles of general biology which an elementary school teacher should understand in order to teach about plants and animals.

The purpose of this study lies in its attempt to contribute to the understanding of leadership in small groups of boys in a conceptual framework that considers leadership as a dynamic interacting process rather than the summation of individual traits.

The problem of this study is to determine the stability of interest of male and female students at the various age levels in the School of Education of North Texas State Collage, Denton, Texas. To be more specific, the problem is to determine the relationship of age, sex, or both upon stability of interest.

The problem is to develop a sound pattern of teacher education that will produce teachers capable of functioning adequately in modern public schools of a democracy.

As new measures of aptitude are devised, their implications to education are a fertile source for research. All facets of aptitudes as they relate to education are explored. This study is concerned with such exploration in that it investigates the relationships between aptitudes, as measured by the General Aptitude Test Battery and selected major fields of study at North Texas State College, Denton, Texas. The major fields of study selected for this research are Accounting, Business Education, Elementary Education, Industrial Arts and Marketing.

The study presented in this paper is an effort to determine qualities considered significant by students in their teachers' behavior and methods, and, moreover, to assess the degree of importance which students assign these qualities.

This study attempts to validate the hypothesis that six empirically derived signs will differentiate the alcoholic patient from other clinical groups.

The problem of this study was to develop an analytical and descriptive technique for rating the performances of student teachers. In order to arrive at a solution to this problem, the following sub-problems were to be solved; namely, 1. To develop and validate a set of criteria for describing and rating the performances of student teachers; 2. To develop and validate a descriptive rating scale utilizing those criteria; 3. The problem of this study is to determine the effects of two different social climates, as created by different teaching methods, upon the characteristics of college class groups. The social climates utilized in the present investigation were: (a) a democratic social climate, and (b) an autocratic social climate. The actual meaning of the adjectives used to label these social climates is necessarily somewhat different from the meanings attributed to them in political or economic discussions.

The problem undertaken in this study was to evaluate the activity phase of boys' physical education programs in selected junior high schools of Texas. As a result of visitation and observation in a number of public junior high schools in the capacity of supervising teacher for physical education majors, it appears that many physical education programs were little more than loosely supervised play periods. Apparently there was room for improvement of these programs but a method for making judgments and recommendations required some type of measuring device. However, an examination of several existing measuring techniques failed to reveal any one devoted to the junior high school level or one concerned primarily with the activity program. As a means of improving existing programs, it was concluded that some new form of evaluation must be designed.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the purposes and techniques of supervisory evaluation of instruction with particular reference to secondary mathematics.

The problem of this study was stated in the form of a question: What is the relationship of leadership roles occupied in high school to leadership roles occupied during the first ten post graduate years and what are the possible implications for the improvement of education for leadership? The accepted hypothesis was that the occupying of leadership roles in high school does lay the foundation for occupying community leadership roles.

When one group of disabled individuals finishes their vocational rehabilitation training programs and another group, almost as large in number, fails to complete their courses one wonders whether there are significant differences in the two groups. The problem in this study is to determine if the two groups differ significantly in certain identifiable characteristics. The identifiable characteristics are some important objective variables that are utilized in the vocational rehabilitation training of disabled veterans.
