The purpose of this study is two-fold: first, to evaluate the general requirements for Southern Association membership; and second, to examine the curriculum of the accounting departments of schools that now belong to the Association.

This investigation is being made in an effort to determine the probable effects on the Southwest of the basing-point changes recently instigated as a result of the Federal Trade Commission rulings.

The problem of this study is to determine some effects of color on personnel in industry. Consideration is given to management-employee relationship, employee's physical and mental health, and the resulting increase of both quality and quantity of production.

The problem is to determine the status of the methods of inventory valuation in Texas Cotton Mills. This study is also conducted to determine how much uniformity, if any, exists in this particular industry.

The problem undertaken in this study is a comparison of the Gainesville Junior College with the other municipal junior colleges of Texas. There are many ways in which this comparison could be made, but to attack the problem from every angle would involve too many problems. Therefore, only the instructional staff, the curriculum, the plant facilities, the extracurricular activities, and the costs to students in these junior colleges will be considered.

The investigator made a study of the history, philosophy, method, and operation of centralized purchasing as it now exists for the state-supported institutions in the State of Texas and other selected states (New Hampshire, Montana, Michigan, Nebraska, and Minnesota).

This thesis will concentrate on a two-fold purpose: first, to determine whether an industrial management program at North Texas State College is justified; and second, to present a broad outline that will form a foundation upon which the content of such a program can be based.

The automobile dealership is one of the more important types of small business. The operation of such a business is an integral part of the economy of the country, and conditions existing in the automobile field are usually fairly representative of those in other types of small business; therefore, the general personnel policies of an automobile dealership are basically similar to personnel policies of other small businesses in the distributive field. A study of personnel policies in this field will be of some use to anyone interested in the problems of small business.

The problem with which this study is concerned is that of the selection of those persons in an industrial organization who are most likely to become effective and successful foremen on the production line and of developing these persons into well-rounded, successful industrial foremen. The purpose of this study is to determine some of the major traits and qualifications which a man should possess if he is to become a successful foreman in industry.

"The purpose of this study is to find what information is available from secondary sources on retail trade areas and to assemble and analyze it so that the information will be of value to those interested in the economy of the area...the following general conclusions are drawn: 1. The Denton retail trade area is primarily agricultual. Indicators of this fact are so many and so definite that there is little doubt but that agriculture and the rural population of the area will affect, to a considerable extent all business activity. 2. In 1947, the Denton retail trade area was not highly industrialized. The trading center is not centrally located within the state of Texas, but several markets are a few miles away. A good supply of labor is available within the area. With the present trend toward decentralization of industry, these facts point toward an expansion of manufacturing in the trade area. 3. The area around Odessa offers the highest paid secretarial Jobs in the state, with some 500 oil and oil supply firms employing from one to fifty full-time secretaries, with salaries ranging from $200 to 4325 per month. The opportunities for accountants, bookkeepers and auditors in the Odessa area is unlimited, and they earn from 4350 to $450 per month. The purpose of this survey and study is to attempt the establishment of ways in which the business administration department of Frank Phillips College may help its students to prepare to fill the employment needs in the commercial offices of the area.
