Water can flow over the plastic preventing erosion. The Bermuda grass receives sunlight through the plastic. Soil moisture loss under the covered area is reduced to a minimum. OK-692-7.

Volunteer kochia weed serves as a priority treatment to get a cover on the land. At certain stages cattle graze readily and it supplies a large amount of organic material when plowed down in a seed-bed preparation. OK-745-2.
