Caption: "With one eye on the calendar, men are working hard to complete Mercy hospital's new nurses' home in the 500 block NW 12, in ample time beofre opening date April 11. Begun last May, the four floors and full basement will have residence facilities for 84 nurses and two sisters in a ddition to numerous classrooms, laboratories, assembly rooms and chapel. Value on the finished project, including furnishings, will be $362,000, according to Sister Mary Madeline, Mercy superintendent. An all-day open house will be held Aprill 11. At present there will be 52 student nurses at Mercy. The new class in September is expected to almost fill the new residence. Shown here is the west wing which extends toward the street to form the main enterence."
