Photograph of the George Ranch house yard. The huge oak tree on far left is the Nancy Jones oak tree which, according to the "1996 George Ranch Historical Park Interpreter Training Manual", she planted in 1824. The tree house was later added by the George's for Mary Jones, daughter of Mamie's cousin Henry Jones. There is a wooden rocking chair to the left, near the trunk of the oak tree and there are three more wooden chairs in the yard on the right. A corner of the George Ranch house is visible on the left edge of photo. Vines cover the tops of the wire fence that partially encloses the yard. Trees in background. Written in pencil on the back of the photo: "Back yard of A. P. George Residence". Stamped on back in black: "Jan 27 1937 [1937 underlined with pencil]" and "526". The back is watermarked "Velox".

Photograph of the George Ranch house yard focuses on the Nancy Jones oak tree. According to the "1996 George Ranch Historical Park Interpreter Training Manual", the tree was planted in 1824 by Nancy Jones and the Georges later added the tree house for Mary Jones, daughter of Mamie George's cousin Henry Jones. A spiral staircase around the trunk of the tree leads to the large wooden tree house. A pole to the left of the photograph is being utilized to support a huge sagging limb. Another oak tree on left center has a lawn mower leaning against its trunk. There is a wooden chair to the right rear of the tree. Vines top the wire fence to left; shrubs and trees in background. Stamped on back in black: "Jan 27 1937" and "526". Back is watermarked with "Velox".
