Volume 2 covers the history of Oklahoma from the mid-19th to early 20th centuries. Includes information on railways, the cattle industry, the opening of Oklahoma lands and the push for statehood.

Volume 1 covers the history of Oklahoma from prehistoric times to the 1880's with special emphasis on Native Americans and the use of Oklahoma as the Indian territory. Also includes information on geography and natural features.

This text contains the third portion of the Austin Papers, which are documents covering October, 1834 to January, 1837. According to the preface, the documents include, "business memoranda, physiographical observations, petitions and memorials to local and superior governments, political addresses and proclamations, and much personal and official correspondence" (p. iii). This book is separated into three basic sections starting with an autobiographical sketch about Alfonso Steele, the last survivor of the Battle of San Jacinto. Next, an article by the editor of The Mexia Daily News that gives an overview of Steele's children and grandchildren. Finally, the report from General Houston includes "documents of Major General Sam Houston, Commander-in-Chief of the Texas army, sent to David G. Burnett, President of the Republic of Texas" which "give an authentic account of the battle of San Jacinto, a complete list of the heroes who fought in that engagement, and they clear up some points heretofore the object of controversy" (p. 13).

This booklet is primarily photographs of life on the S. M. S Ranch. Near the end are several text sections, the first of which states, "It is the design of the S. M. S. Booklet to give feeders and breeders both by picture and written word a comprehensive idea of our methods and breeding in which we have been so successful..." (p. 78). The first section gives an overview of the policies and buying options for the cattle company. Next, "Some Glimpses Into Ranch Life" gives an overview of how ranching works, defines ranching jargon, and gives several songs/poems that illustrate ranching. The third and final section, "Stock Farms and Small Ranches, From the Spur Ranch" includes photographs from Spur Ranch and a brief overview about the ranch and surrounding area.

This booklet gives an overview of the history of Buffalo Bayou and of the Houston Ship Channel from 1820-1926. The text gives background on how the area became developed and eventually became an "Industrial Waterway of National importance" (p. [3]). The second half of the text focuses on Commodore Charles Morgan and the shipping aspect of the Channel. Costs of building, lists of important council members, and text of letters are included to illustrate the history.
