This text contains the third portion of the Austin Papers, which are documents covering October, 1834 to January, 1837. According to the preface, the documents include, "business memoranda, physiographical observations, petitions and memorials to local and superior governments, political addresses and proclamations, and much personal and official correspondence" (p. iii). The front of the card has a partial photograph -- attached to the upper-left corner -- of Denison, wearing a suit and hat, standing in front of a large plant or tree. There is an official stamp from the consul general in Laredo, Texas on the front of the card.
