The text on the base of the monument reads, "IN HONOR OF THE PANHANDLE BOYS OF THE WORLD WAR. ERECTED BY LLANO ESTACADO CHAPTER, DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. DEDICATED ARMISTICE DAY 1928." The statue has since been relocated to Ellwood Park in Amarillo, TX.
